Master Hair Care Studio
A precise fade or taper that blends clean into the top. We work the sides and back with care, so the transition is smooth and the line is sharp. This is the cut that gets noticed up close.

The service
A fade or taper is a cut where the hair on the sides and back is blended into the top so there is no visible line. When a client asks for one, they want a transition that looks smooth and intentional, and a shape that suits their head and hairline. The goal is a clean, sharp finish that holds up in any light.
We start by sectioning the hair and deciding where the fade should sit, low, mid, or high, or how subtle a taper should be. Then we work the clippers through the sides and back, stepping down the length gradually. The blend is the hard part; we take our time with the clippers and trimmers so no line is left behind, then clean up the edges and the neckline.
What makes one fade different from another is how short you go, how high the fade starts, and how much contrast you want between the top and the sides. The condition of your hair, the shape of your head, and how much hair there is to work with all change how the cut is approached. More detail and more blending mean more time, and that moves the cost.
You can book a time or walk in when it suits you. When you sit down, tell us low, mid, or high, or bring a photo of the look you want. The cut itself takes a while because the blend has to be done carefully. Afterward, a fade needs upkeep sooner than a regular cut, usually every two to three weeks to keep it sharp.

The difference between a good fade and a great one is how clean the transition is. We work the clippers and trimmers slowly so no line shows, and the finish looks natural from every angle.
Low, mid, or high fades each change the look completely. A low fade stays subtle, a high fade makes a statement. Tell us where you want the fade to sit, or we'll suggest what suits your head shape.
Your visit
We talk about how short you want to go and where the fade should sit. Then we section the hair so the sides and back are worked on separately from the top.
We use the clippers to step down the length on the sides and back, starting with the longest guard at the top of the fade and working shorter as we go down.
The transition is smoothed out with the clippers and trimmers so there is no line left behind. We also clean up the edges around the ears and the neckline to keep it sharp.
We check the blend from all sides, make any small adjustments, and style the top the way you like. You leave with a clean fade that looks intentional and sharp.
Why here
01
A fade or taper only looks right when the blend is smooth and even. We take the time to work the clippers and trimmers carefully, so there are no lines, no patches, and no harsh transitions. You get a cut that looks clean from every angle, up close and from across the room.
02
The right fade or taper depends on your head shape, hairline, and how much contrast you want. We listen to what you ask for, then match the clipper numbers to your hair and your features. The result is a cut that looks like it was made for you, not just a style pulled off a photo.
03
A fade that is cut well holds its shape longer, so you get more good days out of it. We clean up the edges and the neckline properly, which makes the cut look sharp even as it grows out. You come back less often, and when you do, it's easy to refresh.
Good to know

Yes, walk-ins are welcome. If we're busy, you might have a short wait, but we'll get to you. If you're in a hurry, calling ahead to book a time is the best way to make sure you're seen right away.
The appointment takes as long as it takes to get the blend right. A fade with a lot of detail or a very short cut can take longer than a simple taper. We work carefully, so plan for a bit of time in the chair, and you'll leave with a clean, sharp cut.
Tell us low, mid, or high, and how short you want the sides. If you have a photo, bring it along. We'll match the clipper numbers to your hairline and head shape, and we'll ask questions until we're sure we understand the look you're going for.
A fade needs upkeep sooner than a regular cut, usually every two to three weeks to keep it sharp. If you let it grow out longer, it still looks fine, but the line will soften. Come back when you notice the blend starting to lose its shape, and we'll refresh it.
Tell us before you leave the chair. We'll adjust the blend or the length right then, because it's much easier to fix while you're still here. We want you to walk out looking right, so speak up if something feels off, and we'll make it work.

The gentleman, Swan, was amazing. His knowledge and understanding of what the customer requests is spot on. He's been cutting hair for 30 plus years and my pictures verify his exceptional expertise. He is now my barber when I'm this area until he retires.
I needed to get a hair cut and happened to be passing by and they took my walk giving me a fantastic hair cut and great customer service
My husband has been looking for a good barber since we moved here a year ago. Someone from Elloree suggested MHC Studio in Santee & we could not be happier! Best cut ever! Thank You.
